Employees Seminar
Usually, employees seminars are held during lunch-time.
One and a half hours is usual length of the seminar. Two hours is optimum, and we have done it in an hour. But most employers choose one and a half hours.
Sandwiches, soft drinks and coffee / tea are usually offered.
As well as myself, I would invite representatives of voluntary sector and/or school governors and/or public appointments to come, to provide the link for potential volunteers to organisations for which they might wish to volunteer.
There will be plenty of materials for people to take away.
The presentations will be on power-point.
Marketing the seminar to employees is usually done via e-mails to each member of staff and also posters are place in appropriate places, to alert people to the event.
The support of senior management, to encourage employees to attend, makes a great difference.
Numbers attending can vary. The usual number is 10 – 15, but it does not matter what the number is. We have run a seminar for 40 and one for 6. Between 10 and 15 is ideal because we can have a good discussion with that number.
We have run employees seminars for eg Ford Motor Company, Shell International, Marsh, Government Office East, Welsh Assembly, BT, British Library, Lansons.
