LAURA ELSON

Trustee

Laura is an independent strategy consultant within the charity sector specialising in volunteering, fundraising and governance. Her clients have included Sport England, CIPD, MS Society, Cycling UK, First Tech Challenge UK, England Netball and the Jon Egging Trust since setting up her consultancy.

Laura has worked for 15 years in the charity sector for a range of local and national organisations. She holds a number of qualifications from the Centre for Charity Effectiveness, Cass Business School, including an MSc in Charity Marketing and Fundraising, PGDip in Voluntary Sector Management, and Certificates in Grant-making and Philanthropy Management, NGO Management and Governance.

Laura is a member of the Association of Volunteer Managers, the Institute of Fundraising and ICSA the Governance Institute.

 

Prior to becoming a consultant, Laura led on volunteer learning and development nationally at Parkinson’s UK and was national volunteering and governance manager at England Netball. Laura worked alongside NCVO, Nesta and the Cabinet Office to pioneer volunteering programmes for serving prisoners in the North of England and previously managed Volunteer Centre Leeds. She has a strong track record in fundraising success from a range of trusts and foundations and has worked with a number of national charities to build robust, insight led strategies to enable charities to build supporter movements.
