SAPNA MARWAHA

Associate

Sapna is an experienced commercial lawyer, board member and independent consultant working with a range of public, private and third sector organisations.  

 

Sapna began her career in private practice before moving into inhouse legal roles in universities and medical research charities.  As a senior legal advisor, she has guided organisations through the legal complexities of their research and innovation portfolios. She also led key initiatives on anti-racism, patient engagement and strategic impact planning.  

 

She is the Deputy Chair of the Association of Research Managers and Administrators, where as Chair of the EDI Advisory Group she has recently championed a new inclusive recruitment policy. She leads on Legal and Governance as a Development Board Member of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Science and Health, a coalition that drives more equal health outcomes in society through a more equitable sector. She is also an advisor to NHS Blood and Transplant and UK Research and Innovation.

 

Sapna also works as an independent consultant, with a focus on supporting boards to improve their strategy, governance and inclusion. She is able to draw on her passion for diversifying boards and her experience of board participation and recruitment to support members of the Getting on Board community in their own board journeys.  You can connect with her on LinkedIn and Twitter.
