Thank you for helping us
change the face of trusteeship
We are a small charity funded by grant applications, our courses and partnerships, and significantly, donations and sponsorships from committed individuals and organisations who recognise the importance of our mission.

Your donations will help us to:
-
Provide free resources for aspiring trustees
-
Provide free resources and guidance for charities seeking to change the composition of their boards
-
Campaign for change within the charity sector
-
Document the stories of trustees who are creating change
-
Fund our running costs and keep the cost of our courses low
Donating just £10 can make a real difference and help us change the face of trusteeship together.
Funding a Charity Board Leadership Programme place
It’s our mission to make trusteeship accessible, productive and enjoyable to as many people as possible, particularly those communities who are underrepresented currently.
Overall, in England and Wales, only 8% of trustees are people of colour (vs 14% of the wider population), and only 2.9% of trustees are women of colour. It’s simply not good enough. Charities can’t be as effective, just and inclusive as they need to be until we change the face of trusteeship. Meanwhile, 62% of the top charities, by income, have all white boards.
Through the generosity of our supporters we have been able to help scores of trustees to date on their journey to trusteeship. Of those, the majority have now become a trustee and are changing the face of trusteeship around the country.

Sponsoring a fully-funded place for £875 will support one more person of colour to join a charity board (or possibly more than one board, going by the keenness of our previous recipients!), for less than £1 a day for the likely three years of their tenure.
If you’d like to hear more about how you can help change the face of trusteeship through sponsoring a fully-funded place, please contact our CEO Penny Wilson on info@gettingonboard.org
Volunteering with Getting on Board
We are often looking for volunteers to help with our outreach work and with our fundraising. Please contact info@gettingonboard.org if you would like to get involved!
